On those days, I am the QUEEN of avoiding my housework. Okay that is probably something I shouldn't admit but there it is for the whole world to read. Thank you power of the internet.
I have a few ways that are my absolute favorite!
~Pinterest
Come on who hasn't sat down after the kids are in bed to look real quick at a recipe for supper the next day and BAM it's 4 hours later. Then you are wondering WTF happened to the time. Come on you know you have done it on accident and on purpose.
You can't tell me that this doesn't get you EVERY single time you log on. There is always one more pin you will want to look at or one more idea you will get from it. How can you avoid the power toddler painting or kid approved recipes!?! I know I can't! If you can, you need to teach me your witchcraft!
~Netflix
This is another one where I can lose myself. I may be planning on just putting something on so it's not so quite in the background. I then find a show that I haven't seen in YEARS I get sucked in and then I end up binge watching the season. I guess it's because I don't get to watch much grown up TV so when I do I feel like I can't get enough.
A couple of my absolute FAVORITE shows are One Tree Hill, Pretty Little Liars, Vampire Diaries, and Army Wives. It doesn't matter how many times I have seen a season I will sit there and binge watch 4-5 episodes at a time. It is a horrible habit I have but I cannot figure out how to stop it or maybe I don't want to stop it.
~Blogging
Okay Okay this is kind of an obvious way to avoid housework and a good one. I still need to let you all know about it. Sometimes I use it as my way to escape. I use the time to get all of my thoughts out of my head and on to paper. I would much rather blog than clean a dirty toilet. Wouldn't you? If not then I think you should re-evaluate your life and what you think about cleaning toilets. Unless you really like cleaning then you should just pop on over to my house and help yourself. I also LOVE reading other people blogs. I have quite a few on my list that I read weekly if not daily.
~Twitter
There is something about connecting with other Moms on Twitter that makes me rather do that then fold some laundry. I understand that I can probably do both by taking a break between the folding and putting up but what fun is that? I have fallen in love with how welcoming the blogging community has been on Twitter. It makes me want to find a thousand other bloggers to follow....and avoid more housework.
I am so excited about having over 300 followers on Twitter and I just started an account two weeks ago. You guys have been beyond amazing! I cannot thank you all enough.
~Facebook
I have recently started a Facebook page and am trying to figure it all out. It is a little different than your normal profile. That has been taking up a lot of my time when I don't want to organize the kids closets or mow the lawn.

~My Kids
I seriously use this one the most! I would rather go to the splash park or the library then vacuum the carpets. Cuddling on the couch watching a movie is probably my all time favorite. It might just be a little difficult when I have all of them at one time. Our couch isn't that big. This weekend I used an art project as a great way to avoid the cleaning which needed to be done. Did I regret it Saturday night? Eh probably but it was totally worth it. My kids loved painting on the kitchen floor.
Before you leave my blog tell me which one of these are you are guilty of using? Also let me know if you have any favorite things you do to avoid housework?

Love your post! I am guilty of netflix, blogging, and facebook. I am also guilty of playing video games. I watch the Vampire Diaries too. I have the books that were written when I was a teenager. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I am patiently waiting for the new season to come out on Netflix of Vampire Diaries. Probably a good thing it hasn't come out yet.

seriously, all of them... thanks to the internet and social media and television too, they're the ones to blame for our messy house, lol. Thanks for sharing! #momsterslink
ReplyDeleteThank you for commenting! They get me all of the time! I have no excuse! Lol

This is a great blog and so amazingly truthful!! LOL Mine are Netflix (when my daughter lets me watch my shows - not hers! haha!) blogging, twittering and playing Farmville 2 on Zynga Hahaha. Oh yea, clearing the DVR of the nightly shows I never can get too also! I always forgot about what needs to be done and by the end of the day I try to remember all I was doing to avoid everything I needed to do! Hope that made sense! Lol!
ReplyDeleteYou totally make sense! I always forget there is a load of laundry in the dryer. Never fails I find it two days later when I am moving over a load. Oooops! Lol thanks for commenting!

I am guilty of blogging. Blogging and keeping the kids alive takes up all my time. My order of priority is kids, blog, house, husband....hehe...I hate housework but I like a clean house so I do try to maintain some balance but there are some days that I have so many ideas in my head for blogging and I just roll with it. Thanks for sharing this with #momsterslink...I am so glad to have connected with you in the blogging world!
ReplyDeleteI am so happy we connected as well! I am really enjoying this blogging adventure! I love having a clean house just would rather snap my fingers to have it done than actually do it lol!

I'm with you in this one. For me is the same apart from Netflix as I really have no time for TV or movies atm. Most of my time goes to social media and blogging! It is amazing how the time flies and you end uo not having a minute to tidy your house. x

I tend to do social media, blogging, and Netflix all at the same time. I am not sure how I can write a halfway decent blog post doing all those other things. Thanks for commenting!

I HATE housework and will find any excuse to not do it! All of those you gave are great reasons that I use often (except that I don't have Netflix - I told my husband tonight that we couldn't get an on demand TV service as I would NEVER do the housework). Some days I just cannot find the motivation to do ANY housework and I come up with as many excuses as possible!
ReplyDeleteI am so using Hulu right now as a way to avoid housework! Lol! I would tell you don't get on demand TV but I think it would awesome....I can be a bad influence sometimes. I hate it more than anything. Thanks for stopping by!
