Back 2 School

I have been dreading SJ going to Kindergarten. I don't know how I am going to deal with her being gone ALL day long. However it is a milestone that I am more than proud of her for reaching.

SJ and I had some mother daughter time going through her school supply list. We even went to Walmart just the two of us. She loves when she gets Momma time because it doesn't happen as often as she would like. That is something I am working harder on for not just her but all the kids.

SJ and I started off rocking out to the latest hip song on the radio which I honestly don't remember what it was on our way to the store. She was just hopping and bobbing along in her car seat. When we pulled up to the parking lot and I asked her to unbuckle what she could SJ became super excited because she could unbuckle all of it! It has been the first time since we switched car seats.

While we were in the store I was a little overwhelmed because it had been a minute since I bought any type of school supplies other than a notebook. She was a trooper and stuck right by me! I told her what we needed and gave her options which she could pick from. My girl picked everything PINK that she could.

She had to get.....

   2 boxes of Tissue
2 boxes of 8 count crayons
2 boxes of 16 count crayons
2 2 pocket folders (primary colors)
   1 zippered pencil case
   3 glue sticks....we got 4
2 containers of disinfectant wipes (bleach free)
   1 ream of copy paper
   1 pair of scissors
    1 spiral notebook
    1 bath towel
    1 box of ziploc bags
    1 lunch box
    1 backpack

Boy was I exhausted after this shopping trip. SJ did awesome walking right next to me even though it was super busy. I started marking everything off the list but as soon as SJ realized what I was doing she decided she wanted to do it herself since it was her list. SJ did a great job even though she couldn't read the list.

SJ saw her preschool teacher from last year and was super excited to see her somewhere other than school. I think she was a little surprised by it though.

SJ is already for school.

I am not ready.

My heart is hurting a little bit.

I know she will do just fine but I hope it comes easy for her.

SJ will go on to do great things.

I will be strong on her first day...until I get to the car and then I'll cry.

Do any of you have little ones starting school this year? How are you doing with them getting so big? Let me know in the comments below because I'd love to hear all about it!

    1. It is such a hard thing. I had a minor panic attack when I got up this morning and she was still sleeping looking so little...too little to go to school! Good luck in September!!!

  2. Neither of the cubs are old enough for school yet but Tyger will be starting a preschool for a couple of mornings a week. I'm actually quite looking forward to the break, though!

    1. I agree that the break of preschool is a welcomed on but the whole day everyday grade school business is not for this Momma's heart.

    1. She was so funny about it! We were looking at her pencil case and they had a bunch of weird colors. She saw the pink one and goes "Momma! Momma! I want that pink one!" Well okay then.

  9. Oh it must not be easy sending your child to school! I was mega excited when my daughter started but i think that was because at the time I was a single mum and i was going to get a breather, although I did miss my daughter's company! I love that she chose all pink things!

    1. I can totally understand how school could be a welcomed break. I unfortunately don't get enough time with her. Plus all day is a long time for her to be away from me even if I am at work!
